 Late 1920s and early '30s, was a period of rapid change in photography. New cameras,combined with the increased sensitivity of film emulsion, were making new kinds of images possible. At the same time, photography was moving away from the painterly 'pictorialist' images that dominated the early years of the century and into the sharper, more distinctively photographic style of 'straight' photography.

And this movement made Martin Munkácsi at the height of his career,one of the most highly paid photographers in the world.

He was newspaper writer and photographer . He was specialized in sportshoots, photographing athletes and dancers in action.With the ability to frame and form the moment of action, the one moment that can happen in your life, introduced the "snapshots" in fashion world. so he became one of rapresentatives of the movement "New Vision". He had ability to capture spontaneity with the style, in fine gradation of gray and the detailed observation. He understood how to play with lights making harmony the object with shawdow.
