Alejandro Jodorowsky

The Holy Mountain (1974)                           Santa Sangre(1989)

He is filmmaker, playwright, composer and writer.

Wow,,, wow wow wow
it's what I kept sayin watching whole film.

well.. well well

I actually hated when I watched " The Holy Mountain" at first time.
No story, really strong surreal images, was hard to watch.

But it had its personality, its color, its style its character.
And then, on Christmas, with Oscar and other firends , we watched Santa Sangre.
Ahaha it's funny because his films are hybrid blend of mysticism and religious provocation.

Anyway,
I guess, after couple years he got worked more for it
If"The Holy Mountain" hit me with his particular images
"Santa Sangre" added the lovely sad historical  story of this boy that made a "real film'.

Unfourtunally I did not have "Santa Sangre" in my pc,
so I got to capture just some scenes of "The Holy Mountain" :3

+ Both films were withdrawn from circulation for more than 30 years( until 2004) with Allen klein's power.
The film could be found just with poor qualitiy, making sporadic, bootleg appearances on video –Jodorowsky was unable to show or distribute the films legally.

Juergen Teller

One of my favorite photographer.

He is really prticular photographer that lots of people talked about.
He is friend of Marc Jacobs and collaborated with him since the begining.
He is father of Lola( Marc named his perfume with her name) with stylist Venetia Scott.
He worked for all the Vogues ,id Magazine and other various magazine.

I started to do research of him studying about Vivienne Westwood.
I think Vivienne Westwood and Marc Jacobs are brands that really fit with his style.

He is one of few top photographers left who does not "retouch"his photographs.
His works are particular with his own style , especially worked a lot with lights and poses.
His works separates the commercial fashion pictures and makes pieces of art.

Comme des Garçons (Rei Kawakubo)

Didn't wanna talk much 'bout japanese fashion becaz I know that YH and HY know much better than me, and they can deal with it.
but because i chose Comme des Garçons for next project, I wanna share my research  here as well.
So.. I plan to keep upload 'bout this theme for a while :p

Rei Kawakubo
Cannot miss her name when you talk 'bout Comme des Comme des Garçons.
In 1973, she established her own company, Comme des Garçons Co. Ltd in Tokyo and opened up her first boutique in Tokyo in 1975. Since 1982 she keeps present his new collection in Paris as well.

She doesn't just focuse on clothes and accessories but she's always involved in difference things especially in things that have part of one vision  inextricably linked.

Rei also published her own bi-annual magazine, 'Six' (standing for 'sixth sense'), in the early 1990s. It featured very little text and consisted mainly for photographs and images that she deemed inspiring. In 1996 Rei was guest editor of the high art publication Visionaire.

Work for Commes Des Garcons, S/S 1997 body-morphing collection of undulating forms.'Body Meets Dress, Dress Meets Body', directly challenged the 80's flaunting of aerobic bodies.

Rei Kawakubo started to get focus since beginining presenting in the world the fashion avanguard.

That was the period when came out "Material Girl"; popular movie "Flash Dance" and "Dynasty".There was a wave fashion movement " New Romantic" as well. In that time Metalhead style, Punk Style was in trend.

So Kawakubo achieved full attention in Paris ,when she opened her fisrt salon.  It  was out of trend, "non - traditional" style at that time . Its primary color was black , whish was until then, a very unpopular colour.
With deconstructed and crumpled garments draped around the body in particular way made it have impact on new style in 1980's.

I love her, I love her experimental mind and modernistic style. Even she started with black , in the later 1980's  started to lighten up and play with colour. she always creates new style and understands the silhouette of the body.

I respect her also because she was one of the most important designer who transported the interest of asian fashion in the world.

But visiting 10corso como, and seeing its new collection, I doubt that can sell.
I mean it is cool, it is really stylish and artistic. Comme des Garson redefined the idea of fashion. It is always creative and differnt. It is for clients who have the self confidence , ironic and stylish .

But, I read that Comme des Garson's econominc information on the Kawakubo empire is kept secret and always difficult to obtain. Well.. I can imagine why..

The world of fashion is really ironic. People get crazy with brillant artistic and new ideas, they always look for new style. But if you go to field of economic , "the new style" its the biggest risk you can do in world of fashion: It is really difficult to sell.  In milan, the city of fashion , the botigue of Jil Sander and Alexander Mcqueen might have to close because of 0 profit. Victor&Rolf already closed because of that. And those brands are considerd to have more "designed" produc , which I mean "the new style", in every collection.

Maybe thats why in these days we say that design is not all. fashion industry has to consider more the importance of marketing. it is really tragic when I see my favorites botiques get closed.
